When both conditions present, simultaneous penile prosthesis (PP) artificial sphincter (AUS) implantation can be performed treat ED UI, respectively. We sought evaluate device survival outcomes in men who underwent vs. staged PP AUS for UI. METHODS: Analysis 21 years a national prospectively maintained Boston Scientific database was (1995-2016). Patients were placed into three subgroups based on timeline implantation: first then (PP1), (PP2), (SIMPP). stratified surgical approaches implantation. Implant (time revision or explantation) analysis using log-rank test. RESULTS: 6770 patients included the study. from >95.9% all groups (PP1, PP2, SIMPP) at 5, 10, 15, 20 initial implantation, with no difference approach. explantation showed PP1 >SIMPP >PP2 5-years (98.1% vs 96.3% 93.5%) but favored SIMPP compared PP2 10-years (94.1% 93.1% 91.2%), 15-years (93.4% 87.9% 89.6%) 20-years 86.5% 89.6%), p < 0.001. In subgroup 493 undergoing infrapubic perineal approach, >PP1 (99.1% 95.3% 93.5%, p=0.022) similar trend (97.8% p=0.055). CONCLUSIONS: Simultaneous has statistically significant long term survivability (>10 years) when placement dual UI diagnosis. approach does not affect except is utilized, which case more favorable short (5 year) explantation.
